With local parks in mind, this app was created to catalog and browse wildlife in a simple and clean way. Based on your location the app suggests recently sighted wildlife and has a list feature that engages the user. The goal of the app is to promote engagement with local parks and educating users about their local flora and fauna. The app also includes groups and checklists to engage the community and encourage activity.
Process
Illustrations
To create the Illustrations, photography was used as a base and drawn over with simple shapes in a limited pallet. The background is also blurred to pull the focus to the illustration making it more seamless. After the subject has been rendered, a simplified icon was sketched out and illustrated for smaller places of the app.
